Lagos was founded in 1897 BC by El Rei Brigo who originally gave it the name of Lacóbriga which means lake, due to the various lakes that existed in that place.

Several caravels departed from this city that were the protagonists of the Discoveries, sent by Infante D. Henrique.
Lagos is one of the most sought after cities in the Algarve for the unique beauty of its beaches.
The city is also known for the walls that surround it and that once protected and defended it, for its narrow streets that lead all of them to squares and gardens that offer enchanting moments.
